Dear Parents/ Carers
As you may be aware, we had an Ofsted visit a couple of weeks ago which was a great opportunity for us to share everything we have been doing over the last few months to improve the quality of teaching and learning and give your children opportunities to extend their skills and really challenge themselves.
Although Ofsted felt that we had not acted quickly enough to address the areas needing improvement in our last inspection (June 2017), they were more confident that we are moving forward with an increased sense of urgency.
They said that we are gaining “effective external support from the Lion Academy Trust”, our proposed new sponsor, and that recent developments were already making a positive difference to the children's’ learning.
They also said that “Leaders have made positive changes” and have “a united view on what the school needs to do to improve”
We were really pleased that the children “spoke with enthusiasm” about the changes to the teaching of reading which has been a key area for us to improve.
We are fully committed to doing the very best for every single child in our care and are determined to give your children the good quality education they deserve. We are excited about the future and building on the improvements that have now started.
