Our curriculum

Our curriculum is thematic and creative.

Through the themes, our children learn History, Geography, Design Technology and also learn about issues facing our world today. It is designed to provide the children with skills, knowledge and aspirations to ensure success for all. In the Foundation Stage (Reception Year) , children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

In Key Stage One (years one and two) and Key Stage Two (years three, four, five and six) we follow the new National Curriculum for English, Maths, Science, Computing and start French in year three. PE, Music, and PSHE are also taught across the school and we follow the Northamptonshire RE syllabus.

At Olympic Primary School we use 'Letters and Sounds', the programme aims to build children's speaking and listening skills in their own right as well as to prepare children for learning to read by developing their phonic knowledge and skills.
