Our Curriculum is thematic and creative. Through the themes, our children learn History, Geography, Design Technology and also learn about issues facing our world today. It is designed to provide the children with skills, knowledge and aspirations to ensure success for all.
In the Foundation Stage (Reception Year) , children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
In Key Stage One (Years One and Two) and Key Stage Two (Years Three, Four, Five and Six) we follow the new National Curriculum for English, Maths, Science, Computing and start French in year three. PE, Music, and PSHE are also taught across the school and we follow the Northamptonshire RE syllabus.
At Olympic Primary School we use the Read, Write, Inc (RWI) programme to get children off to a flying start with their literacy. RWI is a method of learning centred around letter sounds and phonics, which we use to aid children in their reading and writing from EYFS to Year 1. It is also used through Years 2-6 as an intervention.
