School Meals

At Olympic Primary School we believe it is important that children receive a healthy and balanced diet and are taught about the importance of healthy eating.  This is important for a long and healthy life.  These principles are inherent in all school meals offered at our school.

We have a Breakfast Club who offer a healthy daily breakfast as well as fun activities to start the day.

At play time our Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children enjoy free fresh fruit and / or vegetables as a mid morning snack.

In Key Stage 2 children are allowed to bring in their own choice of a healthy snack to eat at playtime.  These snacks should be healthy i.e.  a piece of fruit, a cereal bar or rice cake, or a yoghurt.  Children should bring these in separately from their packed lunch. No chocolate, crisps or sweets are allowed.

At lunchtime children can have a hot school meal provided by our school meals service, Nourish, or bring a healthy packed lunch from home or go home for lunch.

After School

Our After School Club, L.A.S.K provide their children with a healthy snack at the end of the day.

Carterlink Hot Meals

Our delicious hot meals are provided by Caterlink. Caterlink offers a variety of meals across a three week cycle.  The meals are nutritionally balanced and have been created to meet the standards set by the Children’s Food Trust

Whilst Caterlink will endeavour to provide the menu choice of the day there may be occasions when this will be subject to change.

How much will I pay?

All school lunches for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are now free.

Children in other year groups may also be entitled to Free School Meals if you, or your partner, are in receipt of certain benefits - check whether your child is eligible.

For all other children, meals cost £2 per day and this includes a main meal, bread, pudding and fresh drinking water.

How to Order and Pay for Meals

ParentPay is an online meal ordering and payment service, available to all parents in schools using the Caterlink service.  You will need a username and password to activate your ParentPay account.

If your child is starting school this year, you will receive your activation details once they have been registered and admitted to the school system.  If your child is already at school and you would like a reminder of your login details please contact the school office directly.

Free School Meals

If your child is entitled to free meals you do not need to go to the checkout. You can review your saved meal orders under the Menus and Choices tab.

Although all pupils in Key Stage 1 (Years Reception, Year 1 and 2) are automatically entitled to free school meals, the school will be eligible for additional funding if you are in receipt of one of the benefits listed below.
