What does leading a primary school mean to you?

Leading a primary school is such a privileged position. I am passionate about providing every pupil in school with a high-quality education that meets their individual needs. For me, the key to a successful curriculum is to inspire children to take part in learning opportunities in the classroom and experiences within their local environment. By doing this you provide a known context to build the learning around. I believe that learning should be fun and that our job is to unlock each child’s potential and talent to ensure they become self-confident, independent learners.

What is the one thing about Olympic Primary you wish more people could see or experience?

Our school has such a positive feel and atmosphere. Our newly redesigned Nursery setting, set in the heart of the school, provides the children with a perfect start to their educational journey. Every time you set foot in there, you can’t help but feel inspired!

What are you the most proud of achieving in your tenure as Headteacher of Olympic Primary School?

I am proud of the way we have engaged with both our parental community and also our wider community with the many Hub events that we have offered. Seeing our children’s faces at the Firework Spectacular is something that I will never forget. Our hope is to continue to engage our wider community with even more events this academic year.
